The introduction of new Approach sectors, the implementation of an Approach service for an airbase within the CTA, and the potential to introduce Independent Parallel Approaches required that the number of Controller Working Positions within the Approach Control Room be increased.  A contract awarded to Thales, which was managed by GANS, was concluded and 3 new additional Controller Working Positions, including all the required CNS/ATM equipment, were installed, tested, and commissioned for operational use.
